Workers’ Compensation
If you’ve been injured in the course of your employment, you may be eligible to make a workers’ compensation claim. Benefits include the payment of injury-related medical expenses and a percentage of any lost wages if you are unable to work because of your injuries. We have handled numerous workers’ comp cases over the years and can provide you with clear guidance on pursuing each aspect of such a claim.
Overview
In many cases, the work-related injury is the result of the negligence of a third party. For example, a driver of a truck is backing the vehicle up to a loading dock to unload cargo. An employee working at the dock is struck by the truck and seriously injured. During an investigation, it is determined that the truck’s back-up chime system is not working properly. In this situation, the dock employee is eligible to collect workers’ compensation benefits from his employer. He also may have a separate personal injury claim against the owner and operator of the truck.
