Greg Connly of DOLAN CONNLY represented a client who was a former MBTA trolley operator and a member of the affiliated Union. She alleged in her lawsuit filed in Suffolk Superior Court that the Union had not advocated for her by failing to take her case to arbitration after she was wrongfully terminated by the MBTA. The client was a native of Haiti and alleged that this failure by the Union to advocate on her behalf, was based on her race and national origin. The client had been the subject of egregious discrimination from some members of the Union.
The trial began on October 29, 2018 in Suffolk Superior Court. The jury found in favor of the client and awarded her $490,500.00 in emotional distress damages. Prejudgment interest of $179,771.19 and statutory costs were added to the verdict bringing the total amount of the judgment to $670,556.19. The Judge then allowed an additional award of attorney’s fees in the amount of $150,000.00 plus $8,733.40 in costs. The total amount of the judgment and fees owed to the client after the Superior Court trial was $829,289.59. The Union then appealed the verdict to the Massachusetts Court of Appeals. Greg Connly represented the client during the entire appeal process. On August 4, 2020, a decision came down from the Massachusetts Appeals Court. The Appeals Court upheld the Superior Court judgment. Further, the Appeals Court awarded attorney’s fees in the Appeals Court case in the amount of $27,355.00. Post-judgment interest that accrued during the appeal was also added.
On November 24, 2020, the Union paid to the client the amount of $1,006,330.03.
This case that was handled by Attorney Greg Connly of DOLAN CONNLY went from one on the verge of dismissal, to one in which there was a recovery in excess of a million dollars. No settlement offer had ever been made by the Union prior to the Superior Court trial.

Greg Connly of DOLAN CONNLY tried a case in September of 2018 in the Worcester Superior Court. The case alleged chiropractic malpractice. The plaintiff/client was an 81-year-old gentleman who had a manipulation to adjust his pelvis done by the defendant/chiropractor. The negligent performance of this manipulation resulted in the breaking of his prosthetic knee. The client reported that he heard an audible popping sound and felt immediate pain at the time of the adjustment. The prosthetic knee had to be surgically repaired fourteen days later. The chiropractor testified that he had no memory of the treatment and he testified that he did not perform the adjustment described by the client. Greg Connly and Barbara Connly of DOLAN CONNLY worked on the case for over seven years. During the trial, Greg Connly put together the facts and expert testimony supporting the client’s position into a coherent credible case for the jury.

Greg Connly of DOLAN CONNLY tried a case in the Brockton Superior Court in November of 2011. The plaintiff/client was a forty-two-year-old chef working for a third-party food service company at the defendant’s corporate cafeteria. The plaintiff sustained an electric shock when a dishwasher, provided for his use by the defendant, malfunctioned when he pressed the off button on the control panel. The machine was leaking water that came in contact with a live electrical circuit behind the control panel. What to Do Immediately After a Truck Accident in Quincy, MA?
We understand that being involved in a truck crash is a traumatic and overwhelming experience. Taking rational steps immediately afterward can feel nearly impossible while dealing with pain, shock, or confusion. However, if you are able, taking the right actions in the first moments can strengthen your legal claim.
1. Ensure Safety and Obtain Medical Care
Move to a safe location, if possible, and call 911 for emergency medical attention. Prompt documentation of injuries, even minor ones, creates a medical record that links your condition directly to the crash.
2. Document the Scene Thoroughly
Photograph vehicle positions, skid marks, debris, traffic signals, road conditions, and visible injuries. Accurate documentation preserves the physical evidence insurers and defense lawyers might otherwise challenge.
3. Collect Driver, Vehicle, and Witness Information
Record names, phone numbers, license plate numbers, and insurance details for all involved parties. Witness contacts are essential for corroborating events and reconstructing liability.
4. Preserve Evidence and Limit Insurer Interaction
Keep your vehicle and damaged property secure. Avoid giving statements or signing documents for insurance companies before consulting a truck accident lawyer.
5. Contact a Quincy Truck Accident Lawyer Immediately
An attorney can issue preservation letters, obtain black box data, coordinate expert analysis, and begin building a case from every angle. Immediate action can prevent the loss of crucial evidence and strengthen your ability to pursue full compensation.
In truck accident cases, medical records must clearly establish a link between injuries and the crash. Acting without the guidance of a truck accident attorney in Quincy can leave you underpaid or denied compensation for long-term medical care, lost wages, and lasting impairments.

You Have Limited Time to File a Truck Accident Lawsuit in Quincy
After a serious truck accident, time is not on your side. Massachusetts law gives you three years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury lawsuit. Miss this deadline, and you lose the right to pursue compensation, even if the truck driver or company was clearly at fault.
The statute of limitations is not just a technical rule. It directly affects your ability to hold negligent parties accountable. Evidence can disappear, witnesses’ memories fade, and insurers may exploit delays to reduce or deny your claim. At DOLAN CONNLY, P.C., we move fast from the moment you contact us. A Quincy truck accident lawyer treats your claim with urgency, knows and will ensure you never lose your right to full and fair compensation.
How Do You File a Truck Accident Lawsuit in Quincy, MA?
Filing a truck accident lawsuit without an attorney can be a minefield. You risk missing deadlines, overlooking evidence, or accepting a lowball settlement while insurers exploit every technicality. The process is especially daunting if you are still recovering from serious injuries, dealing with medical appointments, and trying to navigate medical billing.
Having a Quincy truck accident lawyer at DOLAN CONNLY, P.C. handle your case can be the difference between obtaining a fraction of what you deserve and full compensation for your medical bills, lost income, and long-term care.
1. Initial Case Assessment and Notice of Claim
Once you contact us, your Quincy truck accident attorney reviews all evidence, including police and DOT reports, medical records, and preliminary documentation. In cases involving government entities, we file formal notices and presentments of your claim within the required time periods under Massachusetts law. This ensures your legal rights are preserved from day one.
2. Drafting and Filing the Complaint
Next, we prepare a detailed Complaint outlining the facts of the collision, identifying all liable parties such as drivers, trucking companies or equipment manufacturers, and specifying the damages you seek. The Complaint is then filed in court.
3. Serving the Defendants
All defendants must be officially notified of the lawsuit through proper service. This step ensures the trucking company, driver or manufacturer is aware of the legal action and legally obligated to respond.
4. Discovery and Evidence Exchange
Discovery is the phase where both sides exchange information. This includes interrogatories (written questions), document requests for photographs, logbooks, maintenance records, and black box data, as well as depositions of witnesses, company representatives or medical experts. Thorough discovery lays the foundation for a strong case.
5. Settlement Negotiation or Trial Preparation
From the moment your case begins, we prepare as if it will go to trial. If a fair settlement cannot be reached, we are ready to take your case before a judge or jury and present compelling testimony to advocate forcefully for your full compensation.
Attempting to file a truck accident lawsuit alone is overwhelming, stressful, and often costly. At DOLAN CONNLY, P.C., we handle deadlines, preserve critical evidence, and fight insurers aggressively while providing compassionate guidance so you can focus on recovery, not paperwork. Choosing us means securing a legal team invested in securing maximum compensation.
Quincy Personal Injury Client Testimonials
The legal council I received from DOLAN CONNLY starting with the initial office visit to the settlement of my personal injury case was very helpful when I needed it most. Given the extent of damages I incurred from the accident I was pleased with the total compensation I received. Kathleen Allen has been our attorney for a few properties and we have sold and have been very happy and satisfied with her professional care in these transactions. There is a very easy way about her, as these things can be very stressful. She was always right there for any concerns or questions that we had. I would highly recommend her to my friends and family. I have closed on two houses with DOLAN CONNLY in the past 10 years. In July 2022, I worked with Kathleen Allen on a closing and was extremely impressed with her professionalism, honestly, and attention to detail. She was the only party to notice a trust was expiring weeks before the planned closing date. Her keen eye resulted in the seller extending the trust and preventing a delay in the closing. -Sam Excellent service ! Barry McIsaac was prompt and effective in dealing my claim case. We need more attorneys like him to help hold big companies accountable. I’d recommend Barry and the DOLAN CONNLY firm to anyone. I worked with Kathleen Allen to purchase my first home in Boston and she was incredible! FAQ: Truck Accident Lawyers in Quincy, MA
If you have been involved in a truck accident in Quincy, it is natural to have questions about your rights, the legal process, and what to do next. Below, we have answered some of the most frequently asked questions we receive from clients. For personalized advice, contact a truck accident attorney at DOLAN CONNLY, P.C.
Does Massachusetts’ no-fault system cover truck accidents?
Massachusetts operates under a no-fault insurance system, meaning your own Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage may pay for medical bills and some lost wages, regardless of who caused the accident. However, truck accidents often result in severe injuries that exceed PIP limits. A Quincy truck accident lawyer can help determine if you qualify to step outside the no-fault system and seek additional compensation.
How is liability determined in truck accidents in Massachusetts?
In truck accidents, liability is rarely limited to the driver alone. Responsibility can also fall on the trucking company that employed the driver, the shop that maintained the vehicle, the crew that loaded the cargo, or even the manufacturer of a defective part. Determining fault requires a detailed investigation into records, logs, and regulations. At DOLAN CONNLY, P.C., our truck accident lawyers dig into every detail to identify all liable parties and build the strongest case for maximum compensation.
What if the truck driver’s insurer denies liability or delays payment?
Insurance companies often employ tactics to minimize payouts, including denying liability or delaying payments. Without legal representation, you might feel pressured to accept a low settlement. Having an attorney on your side can level the playing field. We will challenge unjust denials, negotiate assertively, and if necessary, take your case to trial to secure the compensation you deserve.
What should I do if I am partially at fault for the truck accident?
Massachusetts follows a modified comparative negligence rule. This means you can still recover damages if you are found to be less than 51% at fault at trial, but your compensation will be reduced by your percentage of fault. For example, if you are found at trial to be 20% responsible for the accident, your total award will be reduced by that amount. Because insurers often try to exaggerate a victim’s share of fault to minimize payouts, it is important to have a Quincy truck accident lawyer on your side.
How long will my truck accident case take in Quincy?
The duration of a truck accident case can vary. While some cases settle within 9–18 months, others may take longer, especially if liability is disputed or multiple parties are involved. Our team will provide a personalized timeline based on your specific circumstances and keep you informed throughout the process.
Will I need to testify in court?
Not all cases go to trial. Many are resolved through settlements. However, if your case proceeds to trial, your testimony may be crucial in conveying the impact of the accident on your life. Your truck accident attorney in Quincy will prepare you thoroughly, ensuring you feel confident and supported throughout the process.
How do I request a copy of the Quincy truck crash report?
An official police report can be obtained from the Quincy Police Department Records Division during business hours. While you can request the report yourself, most clients prefer that their truck accident lawyer obtains it. This ensures the report is requested promptly, reviewed for accuracy, and used effectively in building your case.
How much does it cost to hire a truck accident lawyer at DOLAN CONNLY, P.C.?
Hiring a truck accident lawyer in Quincy, MA, does not require any upfront payment. We work on a contingency fee basis, meaning we only get paid if we recover compensation for you. Our fee is an agreed-upon percentage of the settlement or verdict. This ensures you can access top-tier legal representation without financial risk, and it aligns your success directly with ours.
